    The view of the mountain was good and our room was clean. It had marvellous location near to Sofia airport by taxi and the "gourmet" restaurant. It also was near the forest.

    What a pleasant stay, nothing too much trouble. Unique 5 star hotel with skilful staff and good hot breakfast. Brand-new room, lovely bathroom and exceptional service. Stunning facilities, comfy bed. Location not far from the downstairs restaurant, skiing and entertainment options. Private parking outside provided. Downstairs bar and clean pool.

    The reasons I'm conflicted

    The view from my room was fine,, and the staff in the spa area were genuinely friendly.

    The decor definitely felt outdated,, and I found the service at the restaurant lacking warmth.

    easy access to nature and ski slopes makes for a perfect getaway

    the hotel's fantastic positioning near the Borovets ski resort and just a few steps from Alpin Restaurant provided me with instant access to both winter sports and delicious meals, making my stay both relaxing and adventurous.

    I nearly expect a complimentary bottle of wine for my suffering, but alas, nothing. I almost thought I'd leave a good review, but just couldn't. 5 Experience? What a joke!

    Location is great.

    The hotel is rated to be a 5*. While the amenities might be on ok level, the staff and the offered services are on a 2* level. When we arrived, there was no bellboy and the manager had to help us with the luggage. The room has a safe, but they charge you 7$ per day to use it. Someone was parked their vehicle at the end of the hotel's driveway, and we scratched our car on our way out. We complained and 4 days later the car was still there. The hotel is supposed to be 5* and they have to have 24h room service. Well, Festa Winter Palace does not it. They close down at 12am. The mattresses are just awful - old-school spring ones. We were expecting feather pillows - sorry, no luck there as well.

    Skiing and spa made it worthwhile

    The excellent breakfast set us up for the day, with a fine spa to unwind after skiing. Staff were always friendly, contributing to a warm atmosphere.

    The ski storage arrangements were never clear, and having to store rented equipment offsite added inconvenience. The decor was a bit worn, too.

    Hotel is 60 meters from the slops and the center of Borovetz where you can find all sort of restaurants and activities but still, it is in a quiet place. Nice pool and good bulgarian restaurant at reasonable prices.
